Why Emirati men marry foreign women

I was with my sister at a department store, and I saw an Emirati man with what I assumed was his wife. He was holding her hand and she was dressed in an abaya (the black cloak that most of us Emirati women wear) and the shaylah (head scarf). In fact, she wore this traditional dress like the Emirati women. Had they not stopped close by me, I would have never known that his wife was not Emirati but Eastern European (which I detected from her accent). As my sister spoke of what she was going to buy, my mind went into a series of questions about the implications of the growing number of Emirati men marrying foreign women. In the case of this couple I wondered, what would the identity of their children be? As a mother plays a critical role in building a child’s character, specifically their sense of religion, language, heritage and identity.

Then Why dont women get the right to marry any man they like. Why is it important to marry an emirati man. Life is short, and it doesnt matter what and where nationality. Of course you would see if he is well off or not. Why cant foreign men, who are muslim obviously marry emarati women. Arent we the same religion, the same Ummah. I believe many expatriates in Dubai, are very well off, and can afford a caring and loving emirati wife. All this media hype. Emarati women are also human after all.

Well I know few emirati women married to foreigners : Khaleejis, Iranis, palestinians , jordanians, pakis and even a white muslim british.
I couldnt believe first but they choose them for their deen ( religion ). I found it great , their families accepted it as they know that they arent enough men or good men to find. But the government dont support them at all.
Why men marry foreigners ?
1; some coz of the fees of a wedding with an emirati girl u have to show off.
2; specially when they r british or european it s like ‘look at me im emirati and my wife is foreigner’
3:natural cause coz of their beauty (inner ou outer )
I knew a UAE lawyer and he told me that many men were married to foreigners because they want to try something new.
In the school I have mixed emiratis and the mother is taking very good care and the children are 100 % muslim n emirati .
But when the mother is not a muslim,CATASTROPHE !

I am an American Muslim married to a wonderful Emirati man with a strong faith in Allah. I get so tired of people acting like we only marry these men for “luxurious lifestyles”. It makes me wonder what the people think of me when I go over there. Not the way a young Muslim woman should feel when marrying a man, especially considering Allah is not racist. I can understand your concern, but perhaps if these women didn’t expect the moon in their pocket and boss there husband’s around by changing Allah’s law of the ability to marry more than one wife (with restrictions) then things would be easier for them. Maybe these girls should re-evaluate themselves before telling “their men” what to do.

Well these men can have more than one wife so if they marry a foreigner why not also marry an Emirati? If they can treat them farely there’s nothing wrong in it and it settles the problem completely. Which goes to prove that Allah makes laws with wisdom. Mohammed (PBUH) is the best example so why not follow him and intermarry?
