Ukranian woman charged for sexual exploitation - Dubai/Sex Trade

A woman who came to Dubai to help treat her daughter’s asthma was nearly trafficked for Dh28,000 by a woman who claimed to be helping her. The 36-year-old Ukrainian woman, K.S., denied that she tried to sexually exploit the penniless Moldavian woman by offering her for sale and pleaded innocent before the Dubai Court of First Instance. The 27-year-old mother, M.O., claimed that doctors asked her to treat her sick daughter in a relatively warm country such as the UAE.

Receptionist on trial for running brothel in hotel

A receptionist has denied running a brothel with 14 women in a Naif hotel where he worked, a court heard on Sunday. The 14 Uzbek girls, aged between 18 and 39, have also denied working in the sex industry before the Dubai Court of First Instance. Meanwhile, a 24-year-old Bangladeshi worker, M.S., denied leading clients to the hotel for sex. The Public Prosecution charged the 14 Uzbek girls with working as prostitutes. Ten of them have also been charged with illegally staying in the country after their visas expired.
