Treasures looted and sold online

Aboriginal sites and artefacts are being destroyed and disturbed at record rates in NSW and important objects are increasingly appearing for sale on auction websites, to the dismay of Aboriginal elders. But prosecutions remain rare because laws to increase Aboriginal heritage protection passed eight years ago have never been enacted. The situation is infuriating indigenous groups and heritage experts, who say NSW has the most toothless protection regime in Australia
