Underage models have been banned from Australian Fashion Week as organisers yesterday bowed to pressure over plans to put a 14-year-old on the catwalk. Polish girl Monika Jagaciak, who had been promoted as a headliner for the show, will no longer be coming to Australia. All AFW models will have to be at least 16 and represented by a modelling agency. AFW organisers said yesterday they had revised their policy “in light of industry and community concern regarding the acceptable age for models to appear on the catwalk”.
