Paul Maley; 7/8/08

Lawyers for Mohamed Haneef say the Indian doctor will make a statement to the Clarke inquiry within the next two weeks. Rod Hodgson of Maurice Blackburn Lawyers said Dr Haneef’s legal team had begun crafting a short written statement for inquiry head John Clarke SC, which could be followed by a formal interview with Mr Clarke. It is understood Dr Haneef, who is working as a GP just outside Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, will confirm the veracity of the various interviews he conducted with police and give an overview of his time as a doctor at Gold Coast Hospital.
