Less sex, more violence for women: study - Australia/Domestic Violence

25/3/08

Women are having sex less often, still do most of the household chores, and are increasingly likely to be victims of sexual violence, a survey suggests. A survey of 15,000 women by The Australian Women’s Weekly, which the magazine touts as biggest survey of its kind undertaken in Australia, has provided a broad snapshot of women living through the late noughties. “Our readers have told us how they live, how they love, what they think and what they want,” said editorial director Deborah Thomas. According to the survey, women are having less sex than they did almost 30 years ago, with only 47 per cent saying they do it at least once a week, compared to 57 per cent in 1980.
