Anesty International has accused Israel and the Palestinian Hamas movement of committing war crimes during Israel’s January offensive in Gaza that resulted in the deaths of more than 1400 Pales-tinians and 13 Israelis. A 117-page Amnesty report charges Israeli forces with killing hundreds of unarmed Palestinian civilians and wanton destruction of thousands of homes. Amnesty found no evi-dence of Palestinian militants using human shields to stop Israeli attacks, but it accuses the Israel De-fence Forces of launching attacks from buildings in which Palestinian civilians were sheltering.
