Bring one of the local Wurundjeri people has ensured Andrew Peters is uniquely positioned to make the indigenous studies course he teaches at Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne relevant to his undergraduate students. He has great contacts and a clear perspective. “I use stories from my own people, have access to a lot of the local elders and take students on field trips,” Mr Peters said. “I tell them the history of indigenous Australia is not history, it’s living all around them at the moment.”
