The consumer watchdog has shut down a website claiming to help people buy and sell organs - which is illegal in Australia. The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) forced the closure of the www.cashfororgans.com.au website, after receiving a tip-off on Wednesday. The site claimed to link transplant donors with recipients. ACCC chairman Graeme Samuel said the site, which required users to pay a registration fee, was now being investigated. “The website name intimated that consumers may be able to sell their organs through the site,” he said.
