The Aboriginal clan that rescued Theo Rosmulder from his five-day outback ordeal spotted the Victorian holidaymaker’s fresh footprints, then found him by calling his name from the tops of hills. Mr Rosmulder, a pest controller who managed to stay alive in the harsh West Australian desert by “knocking the tops” off termite mounds and “getting stuck into them”, was released from hospital yesterday and vowed to continue his trip around the country. “It’s quite funny that the things that I kill to make a living are the things that kept me alive. It’s quite ironic,” said the volunteer firefighter from Yarrawonga, 260km northeast of Melbourne. He was more than 3000km from home in the harsh goldfields north of Kalgoorlie late on Friday when he wandered away from his wife, Pauline, and their car while prospecting.
