Children slain by shell that hit Gaza
Martin Chulov; 29/4/08
Four Gazan children were killed late yesterday after an Israeli shell struck their home as they were eating breakfast with their parents, Palestinian medics claimed. Two other members of the same family were reportedly killed, while a seventh person was in a critical condition in hospital. Eight others were listed as wounded. The Israeli Army last night confirmed its forces were operating in the restive northern town of Beit Hanoun, from where militant groups often launch rockets into nearby southern Israeli communities. The clashes came days after Hamas had tabled a plan for a six-month truce, which it said would be ratified by all militant factions in Cairo later this week.
