Care centre to help trafficking victims

The Abu Dhabi government has announced a Dh8 million contribution to set up a centre for victims of human trafficking in the emirate. The move is in line with the directives of General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. Meanwhile, Her Highness Shaikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, Chairperson of the UAE General Women’s Union and Honorary Chairperson of the UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA), donated a plot in Abu Dhabi where the centre will be built. The care centre will provide a safe shelter, healthcare and social support for women and child victims of human trafficking.
